Program

Apollo Series is a program designed and developed by Series Mania Institute in partnership with MIA | Mercato Internazionale Audiovisivo and Göteborg Film Festival’s TV Drama Vision.

From September 2026 to March 2027, this exclusive program combines tailored mentorship and access to key industry events to help 10 European producers strengthen the packaging phase of their series projects by deepening expertise in the creative and business aspects of European co-productions.

1- PERSONALIZED MENTORSHIP FOR PROJECT DEVELOPMENT

Aimed at supercharge participant’s project to a European dimension.

  • 3 online meetings with a creative mentor, with the head writer present
  • 3 online meetings with a business mentor

2- PARTICIPATION IN THREE MAJOR MARKETS

By gaining access to three main markets, participants take part in exclusive sessions, case studies and masterclasses, and benefit from networking opportunities to connect with international industry experts:

Method

  • Two mentors to guide the participants throughout the program, through individual and group meetings
  • Lectures and case studies with experienced series professionals
  • Networking opportunities by participating in each market
  • Monitoring of participants’ progress and projects development, overseen by mentors

  • From September 2026 to March, 2027: 3 onsite sessions (4 days each) / 6 online meetings
  • Duration: 15 discontinuous days / 85 hours
  • Location: Italy (Rome), Sweden (Gothenburg), France (Lille) & Online

Eligibility

The program is designed for producers who meet one of the following profiles:

  • Producers with at least one credit on a live-action series produced at the national level, but who are new to the European co-production landscape.
  • Producers with prior production experience in fiction, documentary, or feature films, working within a production company that already has experience in live-action series production at the national level, but is new to European co-productions.

The organizers reserve the right to select one or more junior applicants if they are deemed likely to benefit from the group’s expertise, depending on the quality of the project and the applicant’s local industry context.

Selection will be based on a live-action fictional series project at an advanced stage of development, but not yet in production. The project should:

  • Present a co-production opportunity, for example by involving at least two European countries or two main characters speaking different European languages.
  • Have an attached writer who is available for online meetings with the creative mentor during the program (three meetings).

In the case of adaptations from existing IP, participants must provide proof that they hold the audiovisual adaptation rights.

Applicants must hold nationality or long-term residence in one of the following countries:

Albania, Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Republic of Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Kosovo, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Moldova, Montenegro, the Netherlands, North Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine or the United Kingdom.

Selection will consider the following criteria, while striving to encourage diversity:

  • The candidate’s professional experience or the production company’s track record.
  • The quality and stage of development of the project.
  • The project’s European co-production potential.
  • The candidate’s motivation and openness to feedback.

paid Possibility of partial bursaries

Partial bursaries for tuition fees of up to 2500€ are awarded by Series Mania Institute for a limited number of participants, with priority given to applications from European low capacity countries, thanks to our Creative Europe – MEDIA funding.

Application process

The call for applications for Apollo Series will be open from April 27 to June 15, 2026.

To apply, an online application form must be submitted, with the following elements:

1 Pitch document of maximum 12 pages including :

  • Title (international + local), Tagline (if any)
  • Fact sheet: Format, Genre, Language(s), Country of origin, Involved countries, IP (if any)
  • Editorial elements: Logline, Synopsis, Main characters’ arcs, Arena, Tone & style
  • Creator’s & Producer’s intents
