Erich RETTSTADT

Erich Rettstadt is a filmmaker and theater artist whose work propagates queer joy through blissfully escapist comedy. He obtained his BFA in Film & TV Production from NYU and MFA in Writing for Screen & TV from USC. His short film “State Debate” was awarded a Panavision New Filmmaker Grant and featured an original NYU Symphony Orchestra soundtrack with music and lyrics by Tony Award nominee Max Vernon. Erich’s work has appeared in The Guardian, The Washington Post and EW, among others. Based in Taipei, Erich’s latest short “Tank Fairy” has won 30+ awards across varied festivals, including SXSW, SeriesFest, Festival MixBrasil and Oberhausen.
