Drag is magic (literally) in “Fanteasia,” a musical comedy limited series exploring a fantastical world where enchanted queens and kings glam up the daily Taiwanese grind. In a magically realistic rendering of modern day Taiwan, an ensemble cast of rotating drag protagonists foster camaraderie while living side by side with mundane mortals, striving for authentic self-expression amid the complexities of coexistence. Six episodes are presented as chapters of a “Grimms’ Fairy Tales”-esque storybook authored by omnipresent narrator MOTHER PEARL (50s).
