Why should you adapt this book into a TV series?

Brexit Romance is both a commercial romantic comedy and a mischievous political farce. The award-winning author delivers a joyful plot, full of twists and turns and eccentric, endearing characters. Not only is the novel riveting, it is also set in the current social and political context, allowing it to address different contemporary issues such as Brexit, but also the rise of far-right parties, homophobia, the crisis of the left movements, or the hypocrisy of the privileged classes. For a Franco-British co-production where Four Weddings and a Funeral meets Parliament.

What’s the story ?

July 2017. 17-year-old French soprano Marguerite Fiorel goes to London with her teacher Pierre Kamenev to sing The Marriage of Figaro. They run into Justine Dodgson, founder of a secret start-up company named Brexit Romance. Their goal: to organise marriages in name only between French people and English people who wish to get a European passport.
