Rose Wicksteed

Rose worked as a Casting Assistant for Casting Directors: Nina Gold, Lucinda Syson and Elaine Grainger on films including INCEPTION, CHRONICLES OF NARNIA, and BRIGHT STAR before setting up as a Casting Director in 2009. She worked for 9 months in UK Casting on Scorsese’s HUGO in 2010 and was nominated for an Artios Award (USA) for Outstanding Achievement in Casting for BAFTA award-winning short film ROOM 8 in 2013.

In 2014 she was named a Screen International Star of Tomorrow. She cast the BAFTA nominated and BIFA award winning THE SURVIVALIST, global box office hit THE NUN. In the past few years, she cast internationally the first two seasons of the Golden Globe nominated and Emmy award winning show GENIUS (EINSTEIN and PICASSO) for Ron Howard & Brian Grazer’s Imagine, Fox 21, and National Geographic; new series THE GREAT, written by Tony McNamara for Hulu and covered UK casting on the final season of HOMELAND (Fox21/Showtime) and on the upcoming tentatively titled series RAY JAMES created by Simon Kinberg and David Weil for Apple TV+.

She works from studios in Hackney, London with her team Sophie Kingston-Smith (associate), Lucy Smith (assistant), a couple of freelance assistants plus Roo, the casting dog. The casting studio also hosts holistic therapy sessions and the team love going to a regular Gong Sound Bath on a Monday evening.
