The largest luxury department store on the continent has stood in the middle of Berlin for over a hundred years: the legendary department store of the West called KADEWE. As the setting and chronicler of its time, the KaDeWe reflects the longings, dreams and desires of generations of people. The series tells the story of four young people around the KaDeWe during the Weimar Republic. A time – just as fragile and chaotic as today – and at the same time full of freedom, promises and possibilities. A great friendship and family saga, and a lesbian love story against all odds.
