Call for applications

For the 8th consecutive year, Writers Campus is opening its call for applications: professional screenwriters from around the world with a project in development will be selected to participate in a week of intensive workshops and meetings at the Creative Bazaar and Series Mania Forum in Lille from March 21 to 27, 2025.

Solo or duo, Writers Campus is aimed at professional screenwriters with a live-action fiction project. This project must not be attached to a production company or a TV channel/streaming platform.

At the Creative Bazaar—Series Mania’s creative incubator that brings together numerous residencies—the participating screenwriters will be mentored for 4 days by two high-level mentors, both in group sessions and individual meetings, focusing on preparing for the final pitch.

They will also have the opportunity to meet renowned series professionals (Charlotte Brandström in 2024, Ron Leshem in 2023, Bryan Elsley in 2022, Amit Cohen in 2021, Eli Horowitz in 2020…) during masterclasses and networking events.

They will then take part in the Series Mania Forum, where the work done during the Writers Campus will culminate in a pitching session in front of the audiovisual industry, producers, broadcasters, and platforms.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • Have a project at an advanced enough stage of development to be pitched at Series Mania Forum.
  • Be able to justify relevant professional experience—specifically, having had a project broadcast on television, a platform, online, in cinemas, or at a festival (whether it’s a TV/digital series, a short or feature film). Or have a broadcasting agreement for a first work that is about to be aired.
  • The project must not be attached to a production or broadcasting company until after the workshop (following the pitching session).
  • English is the working language and the required language for all application documents.
