Program

The Serial Bridges Asia Workshop is a talent cultivation initiative jointly organized by the Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA) and Series Mania Institute (SMI). Designed to bridge the gap between regional talent and the global market, the program fosters international co-productions consensus and opportunities while enhancing the visibility and competitiveness of Taiwanese and Asian writers and producers.

Now in its third year, the 2026 Serial Bridges Asia Workshop expands its regional impact by welcoming the Creative Economy Agency (CEA) of Thailand as a key partner. The program is designed to foster international co-production, build cross-border collaborations, and enhance the global competitiveness of storytellers from Asia and Europe.

Capacity:

  • 9 producer-writer duos (6 from Taiwan, 3 from Thailand).

Duration:

  • 4 Sessions across 9 months

Objectives:

  • To provide comprehensive training in screenwriting, production, and pitching.
  • To provide participants with an understanding of the series co-production processes and markets in Taiwan, Europe, and in the Asia-Pacific region.

  • checkThe application and participation are free of charge
  • checkDeposit: 10,000 NTD (Refundable upon 90% attendance and submission of all assignments). *Applies to Taiwanese teams only.
  • checkTAICCA covers round-trip economy airfare for up to 2 members per team.
  • checkTAICCA covers accommodation in Lille for the selected teams. Note: Meals, local transport, and insurance are the responsibility of the participants.

  • closeThai participants must assume responsibility for all travel-related expenses.

Application process

Team eligibility: 

  • Applicants should apply in a duo with one producer and one writer (total number of members: 2). Each duo should hold a series project in development. 
  • Experience: Proven industry experience in series or feature films.
  • Project: Must have a series project currently in development.

Application process:

To apply for Serial Bridges Asia, please submit the following documents:

  • Project Pitch Deck: Title, logline, specifications, tone/style, and mood board, story arc, etc.
  • Creative Motivation: (Max. 1 page).
  • Synopsis/Treatment: (Max. 500 words).
  • Season 1 Storyline: (Max. 1 page).
  • Character Bios: (Max. 200 words per character).
  • CVs: Professional bios for both Producer and Writer.
  • Motivation Statement: Why “Serial Bridges” and expected benefits (Max. 1 page).
