The Passing follows two detectives, as they investigate a murder on a pair of remote islands in the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Chloé, running from a guilty past and caring for her sick father on the French island of St. Hylaire is thrust into the investigation of a girl’s death on the neighboring Passage Island. An island controlled by an insular cult led by Tomasin, who works against Chloé and Joseph, an RCMP detective haunted by hallucinations of his dead daughter Tanya, at every turn. As they uncover another missing body, that of a priest, and the « dead » girl, Emily Cooper, turns up alive, the mystery deepens. Throughout the series, Chloé uncovers her own family’s secret connection to Passage Island while Joseph grows closer to the islanders.
