The Guardians

THE GUARDIANS follows the struggle of the Umã First Nation, based on the story of LAURA, VITÓRIA, and NEIDE, three sisters who made very different decisions and whose lives followed very different paths. They meet again following their father's death in an attack orchestrated by allies of CALIXTO, a powerful land grabber who has plans to occupy the Umã territory and bring progress to the region. Now, they must confront the past while being forced to defend their values. To resist the attacks, the Umã need to defend themselves, but there are differing opinions about the best way to act. Some, like Laura, believe in peaceful resistance. Others, like Vitória, believe that armed defense is the only possible way, while Neide believes that they should stop resisting progress.
