Maeve Camilleri, a brilliant hacker and con artist in her mid-thirties, is forced to flee Malta when a government audit threatens to expose the Messina mafia, for whom she works. To avoid taking the fall, Maeve escapes the ruthless Alessandra Messina, the mafia’s boss, and seeks solace in her estranged father, Sean Malloy, a washed-up con man unaware of her existence, in Belfast. Growing up in an orphanage run by nuns, Maeve has felt profoundly alone, yearning for answers only family can provide. Sean, a lifelong hustler, is on the run from a botched scam that has put him in the crosshairs of The Block, a violent Irish gang led by the brutal Dessie. When Maeve finds Sean in a bar and reveals her identity, they form an uneasy alliance. Maeve wants to help Sean escape together, but Sean secretly plans to redeem himself by taking down The Block, a goal he keeps hidden from her.
