Carlo, 35 and a master of DeepFakes, exposes a prominent corporation’s support of far-right groups, publicly destroying its reputation. He does it to convince his girlfriend and journalist, Sophie to stop investigating in the far-right movement in Germany. Sophie is seeing her years' long research being destroyed in one single stunt. He then receives a call from the PR agency Boundary Group. They give him an offer of a lifetime: There are elections coming up in Italy, and they want Carlo to join a campaigning team against the neofascist party Italia Vera and their candidate Guido Alario. If Alario wins, they will be the last deciding vote in an EU vote on the implementation of a right-wing upload filter that will stifle democratic voices at the outset.
