In Kingston-Falls, Inspector Gabriel Serpent sees his vacation interrupted by the discovery of a dead body in a bizarre position: buttocks protruding from the ground with a bicycle wheel driven into them. With his municipal police station facing potential closure, Gabriel wants to lead the investigation to prove its necessity. The arrival of Cynthia Quinn, nicknamed “the Tracker,” an investigator whose methods are questionable and who has alcohol problems, disrupts the team’s harmony.
