Le Charles on Prime Video, The Airport Chaplain on Netflix: two series that came through the Series Mania Forum are now available to audiences. A look back at two projects whose paths crossed with the Forum on their way to the screen.
Every year, the Series Mania Forum brings together the industry’s key players in Lille: producers, broadcasters, platforms, distributors and financiers. Behind the meetings and the pitches lies one ambition: to help series find their partners, their financing and their audience.
This month, two projects that passed through our doors have landed on the platforms.
Time to binge-watch!
Le Charles
France, 2026
Winner of the Buyers Upfront 2026, Le Charles is available now on Prime Video.
The aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle has just set sail on a strategic mission in the Eastern Mediterranean, where the situation is explosive. Shortly after departure, a female crew member is found dead and another is reported missing. Despite the danger, the operation continues and a military investigator is rushed on board. When a new victim is discovered, the “Charles”, a veritable floating city of 1,800 men and 240 women, becomes a trap where a killer, rising tensions and unfolding events threaten the crew and perhaps even the country.
The Airport Chaplain
Australia, 2026
Presented at the Co-Pro Pitching Sessions 2025, The Airport Chaplain is now available on Netflix in more than 190 countries.
At the centre of The Airport Chaplain is Tobias Wallace (Hugo Weaving), a fast-moving fixer with a constantly ringing phone, pockets full of cash and an unorthodox approach to the daily crises unfolding inside the terminal. Convinced the airport couldn’t run without him, Tobias has never encountered a problem he couldn’t solve. Until he meets his formidable new boss Mira (Shabana Azeez), who considers him a walking liability. Their clash sparks a power struggle that reverberates through the terminal, affecting the cleaners, baggage handlers and passengers who are all navigating their own hopes, challenges and life-changing moments amid the constant flow of arrivals and departures.
