Tomohisa Yamashita, nicknamed Yamapi, is an actor, singer, dancer and composer, and former member of the Japanese boy band NEWS. At the age of 10, he entered the famous Johnny’s Entertainment school, which produces youth music groups with considerable success in Japan.After taking part in various musical groups, Tomohisa Yamashita joined News, a Japanese boy band, in 2003.

In addition to his musical career, this true J-Pop icon, Tomohisa Yamashita, has played a number of roles in successful dramas, from P.P.O.I. to Buzzer Beat, including Operation Love, Code Blue and Monsters. In 2020, he left Johnny’s Entertainment to focus on his international career.

His most recent international successes include his appearance in the Japanese series Alice in Borderland as the “King of Clubs” and his starring role in the series The Drops of God, an adaptation of the manga by Tadashi Agi.
