Born in 1962, Thibault de Montalembert joins the free class of the Cours Florent under the direction of Francis Huster, and enters the École des Amandiers, run at the time by Patrice Chéreau and Pierre Romans. He plays Heinrich von Kleist, Anton Tchekhov or William Shakespeare and slowly starts a career in TV and for the cinema.

In Hôtel de France (1987), his first leading role in a movie, he works again with Patrice Chéreau. He then acts for Jacques Doillon (L’Amoureuse) and starts a collaboration with Arnaud Desplechin, who will take him for three movies, among which Comment je me suis disputé… (ma vie sexuelle).

In 1994, he becomes a pensionnaire of the Comédie-Française, for two years. He then takes part in many independent and demanding productions, with Michel Hazanavicius, Denys Arcand, Bertrand Bonello or Rachid Bouchareb…

In 2007, he stages Letter to His Father by Franz Kafka at the Bastille theater.

During the 2010s, Thibault de Montalembert focuses on TV and gains a lot of popularity in 2015, thanks to the series Dix pour cent.
