Tania de Montaigne is a screenwriter, playwright and author of novels and essays, including Noire, la vie méconnue de Claudette Colvin (Grasset) prix Simone Veil 2015 and L’Assignation, les Noirs n’existent pas (Grasset) Prix de laïcité 2018.
Noire, the little-known life of Claudette Colvin was recently adapted for the stage, directed by Stéphane Foenkinos and starring Tania de Montaigne alone.
L’Assignation, les Noirs n’existent pas has also been adapted for the stage, and will premiere this autumn at the TNB in Rennes, then at the Théâtre du Rond-Point in Paris.
Tania de Montaigne writes a monthly column for the newspaper Libération, alternating with three other writers.
