Sophie Deraspe

It was the visual arts and literature that led Sophie Deraspe to write and direct her first feature film, Rechercher Victor Pellerin (2006), which announced a strong signature, anchored in reality. In 2009 follows Les Signes Vitaux, awarded more than 15 times around the world. In 2015 Sophie released Les Loups and a documentary, Le Profil Amina. Her contemporary adaptation of Antigone (2019) was a resounding success, culminating in the Best Picture statuette at the Canadian Screen Awards and Canada’s representation at the Oscars. In 2021, she dives into directing the 6 episodes of Bête noire, presented in Panorama at Séries Mania. Her second series, Motel Paradis, will air in 2022.
