Olivier Marchal is a French director, screenwriter and actor. He is best known for his dark, realistic crime films.

Before embarking on a career in cinema, he spent almost 12 years as a police officer, a role that has influenced his subsequent film work.

In 2000, Olivier Marchal made his directorial debut with the film “Gangsters”. This feature, inspired by his experience in the police force, met with critical and commercial success, establishing his reputation in the crime genre.

He went on to direct other successful films, such as “36 quai des Orfèvres” (2004) and “MR 73” (2008), which explore the world of crime, justice and the police with raw realism.

In addition to his career as a director, Olivier Marchal has also acted in a number of films and TV series, often playing cops or characters linked to the world of crime.
