Michael HIRST

Michael Hirst is a British television writer and producer.

Hirst began his career writing episodes for British TV series in the 1980s and 1990s. However, it was with his TV series The Tudors, which aired from 2007 to 2010, that he achieved international success and won numerous awards. He is also known for creating the Vikings series (2013-2020).

In addition to his achievements in TV series, Michael Hirst has also written screenplays for the big screen. He is best known for writing the film Elizabeth (1998), starring Cate Blanchett as Queen Elizabeth I of England. The film received numerous nominations and won several awards, including a BAFTA.

In 2022, he presented his Billy The Kid series at the festival.
