Luke WATSON

Luke Watson is an award-winning film and television writer/director. He is currently co-writing and attached to direct the geopolitical thriller series State of War with Hangtime Films; the French/UK police thriller Intercept with Ego Productions and Submarine; and the Brazilian/US supernatural thriller Shadows with Intaglio Films and Janeiro Studios.
Recently, he served as Lead Director on Season 1 of the horror series True Haunting (Netflix/Atomic Monster) and as Lead Director, Writing Consultant, and Executive Producer on Season 1 of the international sci-fi series The Swarm (The Alliance/France Télévisions, ZDF, and RAI), which premiered at Series Mania, achieved ZDF’s highest-ever streaming numbers, and won Best Miniseries at the 2023 German Television Awards.
In 2021, he co-created and co-wrote The Drowning, a four-part identity thriller for Channel 5, which became the channel’s highest-rated and most-watched drama ever.
Luke has also directed numerous prime-time UK TV dramas, collaborating with top talent on shows like Britannia, Ripper Street, Criminal Justice (winner of a BAFTA and Prix Italia), Spotless, Shameless, and The Village. He adapted John Wyndham’s Random Quest and M.R. James’ A View From a Hill for the BBC, the latter launching the long-running Ghost Story for Christmas series.
