Born in Saigon, Linh-Dan Pham leaves Vietnam for France before the age of one. She grows up during childhood and to adulthood in the Parisian suburbs. After a short stay in the Netherlands, she is hired in 1991 for the role of Camille, adopted daughter of the character played by Catherine Deneuve in Indochine, by Régis Wargnier. She is nominated for Most Promising Actress at the Cesars.
After this extraordinary debut, she disappears for ten years to finish her education.
In 2001, living in New York, she attends classes of the Actors Studio method at the Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute, and stars in plays and commercials. Back in France in 2005, she starts a career as an actress and plays in the movies Les Mauvais Joueurs by Frédéric Balekdjian, and De Battre Mon Cœur S’est Arrêté by Jacques Audiard. In this last film, she co-stars with Romain Duris and receives the Most Promising Actress Cesar award, 13 years after her first nomination.
She then reunites with Régis Wargnier for Pars Vite Et Reviens Tard, and appears in films like Dante 01, Le Bruit Des Gens Autour or Tout Ce Qui Brille. She will then be seen in Ninja Assassin by James McTeigue, Mr. Nobody by Jaco Van Dormael, Le Bal Des Actrices by Maïwenn and in the series Pigalle, la nuit.
In 2019, she plays Brigitte in the series Mytho (Arte/Netflix), in the series Faites des Gosses (France 2) and in the movie Qu’un Sang Impur. Linh-Dan Pham just finished the shooting of Astérix & Obélix: l’Empire du Milieu, directed by Guillaume Canet. She stars as the impress of China alongside Vincent Cassel, Marion Cotillard, Jonathan Cohen and Gilles Lellouche.
After summer 2021, she will come back in the season 2 of Mytho and in the series Or De Lui, premiered at the Festival Séries Mania. September 15th is the release date for the movie Blue Bayou by Justin Chon (Cannes Film Festival, official competition “Un Certain Regard”), in which she plays the role of Parker next to Alicia Vikander.
