Kelly Rutherford started in television with a role in the first season of Generations, for which she was nominated in the Soap Opera Digest Awards and went on to play a leading role in the series Homefront in the early 1990s.

She became well known when she joined the main cast of Melrose Place, produced by Aaron Spelling.

In the 2000s, she also appeared in movies such as Scream 3, Swimming Upstream and The Chaos Factor.

From 2007 to 2012, she played the role of Lily Van Der Woodsen, the mother of Serena, in the famous series Gossip Girl and achieved international recognition.

She also starred in A Sister’s Nightmare and the thriller Tell Me No Lies, as well as in various noteworthy series such as Bones, The Mysteries of Laura, Jane the Virgin, Being Mary Jane and Quantico.

In 2017, she was in the romance Christmas Wedding Planner and also appeared in TF1’s new international coproduction Gone.

Starting in 2018, she regularly appeared in Dynasty, a reboot of the famous television series created by Richard and Esther Shapiro, alongside her former partner from Melrose Place, Grant Show.

In 2019, still in collaboration with The CW network, she joined the cast of the spin-off to Pretty Little Liars, Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists, alongside Sasha Pieterse and Janel Parrish, in their original roles.

Now living in Europe, Kelly Rutherford is embarking on new audiovisual adventures, such as the recent Escort Boys by Ruben Alves (Prime Video), where she makes a notable appearance, while Gossip Girl, rebroadcast on Netflix, is winning over a new generation of young fans.
