Kate Harwood is a British television producer. She worked for over 15 years at the BBC and became an executive producer in the BBC Drama Serials department. As a producer, she worked on David Copperfield (1999) with Daniel Radcliffe and Maggie Smith, Tess of the D’Urbervilles (2008) with Gemma Arterton and Eddie Redmayne and Charles II: The Power and the Passion (2003), awarded the BAFTA for best drama mini-series. For EastEnders (1985-2007), she was responsible for the creation of new characters, families and plots for the series. Thanks to her initiatives, the soap opera achieved UK viewing figures of 12 to 13 million. After two years as BBC Head of Drama, in 2014 she became the managing director of Euston Films, which produced The Dublin Murders (2019).
