Born in Clermont-Ferrand, director, scriptwriter and actor Hugo Bardin created Paloma, a flamboyant drag queen, in 2020, for an eponymous short film that he directed. Last June, Paloma was announced as one of the ten candidates for the first season of Drag Race France, the French version of the most popular drag queen contest in the world. On August 11, Paloma won the competition. In October, when Drag Race France Live toured to Clermont-Ferrand, Paloma became the patron of the Auvergne delegation of the non-profit organization SOS Homophobie and received the Medal of the City, awarded by the mayor himself. Hugo Bardin has been multiplying audiovisual and stage projects, and has become the spokesperson of an entire community.
