Born in 1974, Fabrice Gobert wrote and directed his first short film Camille in 1997, which won the Kieslowski award. He wrote and directed his first feature film Lights Out in 2010 and gave Ana Girardot her first role. The film was entered into the Un Certain Regard section at the Cannes Film Festival and nominated for Best First Feature Film at the Césars. In 2012, he created the series The Returned shown on Canal Plus. He co-wrote and directed most of the 16 episodes in the two seasons. The series won an International Emmy Award in 2013. In 2017, he co-wrote and directed the feature film K.O. with Laurent Lafitte. Between 2018 and 2021, he created, together with Anne Berest the series Mythomaniac, shown on Arte and Netflix, which ran for two seasons and won the audience award and best actress award at the Series Mania Festival in 2019.
