Our take
In the grand tradition of TV prison dramas, The King shows a meticulously organized microcosm where, despite all efforts, survival of the fittest prevails over justice. Luca Zingaretti, known for his role as the likeable Inspector Montalbano, plays against type and weaponises his star persona to terrifying effect.
