Sunshine Eyes

Berlin, in the first lockdown of spring 2020: two sisters Leonie (14) and Lea (16) have been separated ten years earlier after the early death of their mother and are happy to have the opportunity to go and live with their grandmother, Edda. The anticipation is mixed with disturbing news from Wuhan and the rest of the world. It doesn’t take long for the virus to reach Edda’s house and the sisters are faced with dramatic changes.

Our take

A hypersensitive ensemble story, focused on the life paths of several families from Berlin, shaken by the first lockdown. Really shot during the first wave of Covid, partly improvised by non-professional actors and without funding, this series is a sincere, moving and beautiful mirror of our very first moments with the virus.
