Propelled to the forefront of the French scene through stand-up comedy – most notably as a breakout star of the Jamel Comedy Club in the 2000s – Thomas Ngijol later established himself as a powerhouse actor and director. He made a significant impact on French cinema alongside Fabrice Eboué with the hit film Case départ.
Ngijol has since starred in a variety of successful comedies, including Les Cobayes and Fraté, and took the director’s chair for both Fastlife and the superhero satire Black Snake. In 2025, he revealed a new depth to his artistry by turning to drama with the film Indomptables; the project was presented at Directors’ Fortnight in Cannes and earned several prestigious international awards. That same year, he formed a striking on-screen duo with Florence Longpré in the series Empathie, which resonated deeply with viewers and won the Audience Award at Series Mania.
He returns to the festival this year as a distinguished member of the International Panorama Jury. For this special Masterclass, he will meet the audience to discuss his multifaceted career in front of and behind the camera, as well as his enduring passion for international television.
The conversation will be moderated by journalist Pierre Langlais (Télérama).
