Masterclass Simon Helberg

Séries Mania 2026

Masterclass

Saturday
21 Mar
14:00-15:30

American actor Simon Helberg first made his mark in series such as Arrested Development and Joey, before his career took off with the global phenomenon and cult sitcom The Big Bang Theory. For twelve seasons, he portrayed the unforgettable Howard Wolowitz, the extravagant yet endearing aerospace engineer – a role that earned him a Critics’ Choice Television Award and multiple Screen Actors Guild Award nominations.

A multi-talented artist, Helberg stepped behind the camera to write and direct the feature film We’ll Never Have Paris, before asserting his presence on the big screen alongside industry icons. His nuanced performance opposite Meryl Streep and Hugh Grant in Florence Foster Jenkins earned him a Golden Globe nomination. He also delivered a striking performance in the dreamlike world of Leos Carax for the musical Annette, the opening film of the 2021 Cannes Film Festival, starring alongside Adam Driver and Marion Cotillard.

Recently seen in the film As They Made Us and the hit series Poker Face, he joins us this year for the series The Audacity, selected in the International Competition at Series Mania.

In this Masterclass, Simon Helberg will reflect on his exceptional journey through a selection of clips exploring the transition from the razor-sharp precision of sitcoms to the sets of today’s most visionary filmmakers.
