🏆 The Canadian series won the Audience Award for Best Series
At the end of the 1960s, five-year-old Bezhig Little Bird is forcibly removed from Long Pine Reserve, and adopted into a Jewish family in Montreal, who renamed her Esther Rosenblum. In her mid-20s, desperate to reconnect with her biological family, Bezhig travels to the Canadian Prairies to unravel the mystery behind her adoption. Led by and starring an impressive team of Indigenous creatives, this poignant series explores themes of identity, trauma and loss, celebrates the resilience of the human spirit – and holds up a mirror to who we think we are and who we hope to become.
