Julien, aged 30, has gone home to live with his mother, Sylvie. A chance encounter with Marie, his teenage sweetheart, reveals that he is the father of her son Jacques, now 15 years old. This is a big shock for Julien, who has never really grown up and is totally unprepared to take on the challenges of adult life. Three years later, Marie, Julien, and Jacques are living together as a family in a rented apartment, when Jacques’s impending departure has wide-reaching impact.
