Koen VAN SANDE

Koen, a versatile filmmaker, began his career with the award-winning short WES (1998) and a decade of human-interest TV. Transitioning to fiction in 2004, he directed 16+ and wrote DE VIJFHOEK for VRT. As a creative producer, he worked on Family and Zone Stad. From 2011 to 2014, he was a first AD on feature films and directed commercials. His shorts, including LOCKDOWN (2018), won awards globally. He helmed the series GLAD IJS (2021) and ONDER VUUR S3 (2024). Upcoming projects include NEST, a series on pigeon racing, and his first feature film, CLEAN (2025). He’s writing his second feature, THE HOUSE WITHIN.
