Betrayed and financially ruined by a lover, LOUISE, a French belly dancer who used to work on cruise ships, comes to Jerusalem where she inherits her grandmother's shop, which she intends to sell as quickly as possible. The neighborhood of GANIM—where she visited a few times as a child—appears to have changed since religious people outnumbered the liberal ones. There, Louise meets MAYA, a depressed, subservient housewife oppressed by her husband, YAAKOV, and SANA, a serious pharmacist who constrains herself according to Muslim tradition, and also to avoid bothering her brother, WATAD, who rules the family rigorously since their liberal father passed away. To make a little money, Louise teaches belly dancing to Maya and Sana, who experience joy and freedom they are no longer accustomed to. The three women laugh and bond.
